DESCRIPTION:
An add-on to QASIC's Avatar Pull Down Hack v0.0007e to enable members other than select an avatar from the pulldown, they may also enter their own image URL if they want.

Support avatar fomat: .gif .jpg .png .swf


ATTENTION:
Before installing this hack, you must make sure u have QASIC's Avatar Pull Down Hack v0.0007e installed.
Because it is an ADD-ON!!!

This scenario suggests that custom field 4 is slot number 19. Is custom field 3 slot number 18?

Reason I ask is because I'm trying to install this hack but I already have the Custom User Status hack by Lupus installed that is using custom field 4. Lupus' instructions say "If you wish to use another custom slot, you will need to change the number 19 that I have in the code, to the number of the slot that you use".

If the above scenario holds true then all I have to do is rehack public_topic_page.pl in Lupus' hack and change 19 to 18? Currently my custom field 3 slot is Age/Sex with an optional setting, and a lot of my members have already filled this out. Will I run into any problems provided everything I have said is true?

Very Nice add on But I will modify it is that ok?

I changed all of the fields to 18 and changed all of the custom slots to 3, and it worked great. ^^

ok so wait a minute here

custom feild 3 is the only one i have left to use for this hack 1,2 andd 4 are being used by other hacks

now what exactly do i do to use feild 3?

ok i tired what odin said and here is what happend

first of when i entered a url manually when i checked my posts to see if it worked my avatar was not displayed it printed the url in the avatar's palce and also it stopped my stars from showing up(i have the status/stars hack also) and it also printed the url for the stars

secondly i thought maybe i hacked it wrong but when i relaoded my backup files it was still the same so what i had to do was go edit mymember file back to what it was

wich was a pain

and then i noticed that after it writes manual url into the member file if you try to change it it doesnt delete the previace avatar url it just adds the new one you typed in even if you choose it from the avatar list

you never mentioned in your instructions if you need to choose " no avatar " from the avatar pulldown

also when i tried that it didnt work

and just a note on your instructions
you say to edit " public_edit_profile.cgi "
but there is no such file i think you meant
" public_edit_profile.pl "

and one more thing you should add in the instructions the stuff to edit for iether one of the 4 custom feilds in case people like me who dont know what to change can just choose from the instructs what one they want to use

and if someone can help me get this thing working i would appreciate it

Well, according to Odin2000, him confirming what I theoried worked for him. However, it didn't work for me on 6.0. I mean like it did work but it didn't. Nothing shows up. What I did was edit the hack instructions to make all the custom fields say 18 instead of 19 and make all the slots say 3 instead of 4. I then saved the instructions and hacked from there. I uploaded without any errors, cleared the cache, and not a damn thing showed up in edit profile or new register. I'm stumped

what I mean is that new option didn't show up in edit profile or new register.

I Really want it!! i have been waiting a lot of time for this hack.. michael can you fix it? I had the same problem as Murassmeblade .. this hack not work well, if you have the status/stars hack installed on you ubb

Great Mod, I was waiting for this, I installed it and it works, if people put their picture it shows up one thing do under the picture you see the url of it, it is not a pretty sight can this be fixed?

Yes, you may modify the add-on if u like.

I have tested the add-on on 3 UBBs(two 6.04c and one 6.04e), and they do not have the problem that you mentioned.
Would you please give me the URL of your UBB, so that i can have a look on the problem and solve it.

i think the avatar add-on has some mix up with the flag hack

open public_topic_page.pl (in /Templates)

FIND and DELETE:
$user_profile[19] ---> it should be somewhere below $this_flag

your prob is because the add-on has a conflict with the custom status hack


try to solve it by:

open public_topic_page.pl (in /Templates)

delete:
my $custom_status = $user_profile[19];

also delete:
$custom_status

I've just relized that the board does not rezise the image to the specified width and hieght in the Control Panel. Could this be fixed?
